In response to Sam - I've been having the same fixture problem (nightmare). Can you clarify the steps you took to get it to work with fixtures please?
It sounds like DL and install this game, DL 4.0.7 patch and run, then run in compatability mode as Windows XP Service Pack 3, run as admin?

I just figured out right now, in response to my previous comment, that the issues with these files was due to authorization and compatibility, so I ran the damn thing on WinXpSP3 and 'Run as Administrator', same thing with all the patches, incredibly annoying, but finally running smoothing, hopefully no more damn surprises, but I do like to have that original Eidos 400mb patch

This version is so fkn broken: the installation was a hassle error messages kept interrupting the process, so I reinstalled it like 5 times to figure out what´s the problem. Secondly when I got it installed with only one error message but got through it by clicking retry. Also I couldn´t install it with Daemon tools, it nearly broke my computer, wtf! So I burnt the damn thing on a dvd and ran it from there. When all that was done it said 'wrong disc' ok, so I cracked it, it finally got working, started a new save, spent hours on training schedules etc, so when I loaded it up a second time ALL FIXTURES and PLAYER HISTORY was ERASED, then I used this sites patch, the crap refused to fully patch the game, AGAIN error fkn bullshit, so I went and got the 4.0.7 No Data Patch, worked fine no issues, but that still didn´t solve the issue of fixtures, history etc disappearing again when loading up the save file. First I thought it was something to do with location, since the save file can´t be accessed outside the game, it´s simply NOT THERE, can´t find it, so I created a folder on my temp folders, but that didn´t solve the problem, so I tried running this fkn mess as 'Administrator' and it worked, WTF, doesn´t anyone have the Eidos official 400mb patch file, I have yet to play through a season yet, then to this bullshit killing valuable time, why isn´t the patch listed here working, anyone else with similar problems?

This version was so full of bugs that Eidos ended up releasing a 400Mb patch to its 250mb game.
Matches which was counted wrong, the Danish league only played every second season, the moral was always poor or very poor, after one year most clubs were bankrupt and still bought players to 200 mio. When I played Manchester United and there was CL finale after the players were drafted to World Cup, well, then you don't have your players to the finales. If your club and nationteam has fixture on the same day, your team play the national teams match. It was a good season for Luxemburg when Giggs, Ronaldo and Van Nielstelry played on the national team of Luxemburg :-D

First, thanks for making this available!
Whenever I installed this one and try to start it, it always gives me the error message 'Wrong disc inserted'. Still trying to find a way around this, no luck so far.

Championship Manager: Season 03/04 was the last of its kind. Not the last game in the series, but the last game in the team that brought us it. For most people, it offered a pretty big improvement over what the previous game had offered. While at the time I sunk many hours into the game, does it hold up now and in comparison, to the more modern football management games?
We Are The Champions
As is the case with every football manager game ever created. The goal here is to become a successful football manager. One of the things that made Championship Manager: Season 03/04 impressive at the time of its release was it featured more leagues, teams, and players than ever before. They included many new leagues for this game and as a result, the world of football feels far more complete.
Be Your Own Man…ager
The way you go about the game will all depend on you. You can start as a lower league team if you want and try to take them all the way to the top. That can be a lot of fun, but it can also be a hell of a challenge. I once started playing as Cambridge United with the hopes of taking them to the premier league and I could not get out of the Championship!
On the other hand, you can start right at the top and take control of one of the major clubs in world football such as Manchester United, Real Madrid or Glasgow Rangers (ok so I am a massive Rangers fan so that one is for me!). Playing as a top club brings with it a different kind of pressure than a lower league club. For example, success is not just wanted it is expected so it is much easier to get sacked from a more high-profile club.
The Day To Day
Managing a club is more than just putting out a team on a Saturday afternoon. Championship Manager: Season 03/04 gives you a lot of control over your club. You will be in charge of buying, selling, and keeping players happy. You can also hire staff, take training, and try to improve the club’s image. You have a lot of stuff to tackle before you even get to the actual matches. I like to think of myself as a tactical genius and I love how many different tactics and formations there were to play with. The game has a 2D match engine which at the time of release was pretty impressive stuff. It also has far better load times and fewer bugs in general over what the last game had. The issue is that while this is a very solid football management game. I would argue that the more modern games are better.

If you are a football fan and if you have a love for this time period in football, you owe it to yourself to play Championship Manager: Season 03/04. This may not be the most modern football management game or even the best. However, I will still say that this is a fantastic game and one that is very easy to lose a big chunk of your life too!
Final Score
Pros:
- They have added in many new leagues
- Over 200,000 players!
- The game gives you tons of stuff to do
- It is a very addictive experience
- You feel like a genius when your tactics actually work
Cons:
- I do feel that some of the more modern football management games are better
- The visual presentation is not the most exciting
